Peter Benson
Senior Reporter, PERE News
Peter Benson is a senior reporter on PERE, covering listed commercial real estate companies in the US and further afield. A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where he earned a masters degree in magazine and online journalism, Peter has been covering the global real estate private equity market for more than three years. He earned his undergraduate degree at Edinburgh University, where he studied business. Peter is a multi-disciplinary journalist, equally comfortable in print and digital formats.
Ankit Bhatt
Senior Managing Director, US Investments, Oxford Properties Group
Ankit Bhatt oversees Oxford’s US Industrial investment business and is responsible for the overall strategic direction and investment activities within the sector. He has led Oxford’s entry into the US Logistics space since 2018 which today is a ~US$7.0 billion business focused on big-box industrial development (via 50% ownership in IDI Logistics), direct-drive national light industrial platform and a significant investment in cold storage (via Lineage Logistics, the world’s largest cold storage operator). Ankit also serves as a Board of Directors member for IDI Logistics.
Prior to joining Oxford in 2013, Ankit worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking group at CIBC Capital Markets where he was involved in over $20 billion of cross-border transactions. Ankit began his career at KPMG in the Real Estate Transaction Advisory group. Ankit holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University and has completed the General Management Program from Wharton Business School. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Ankit is based out of Oxford’s New York Office.

Ben Brown
Managing Partner, Head of U.S. Office, Brookfield’s Real Estate Group
Ben Brown is a Managing Partner in Brookfield’s Real Estate Group, responsible for the U.S. office portfolio. Ben joined Brookfield in 2010 and has held various roles, including leading investment activity for the office property business in London and New York. He is currently responsible for the commercial operations and investment activity for Brookfield’s office business in the U.S. Brookfield is either the largest or one of the largest commercial real estate owners and operators in New York, Washington D.C., Downtown Los Angeles, Houston and Denver, and is active in San Francisco, Pittsburgh and Nashville.
Prior to joining Brookfield, Ben spent time in Boston, Florida and New York with the New Boston Fund, Sovereign Bank and Thor Equities.
Ben is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York’s Executive Committee and Board of Governors, and he serves on the Boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and Hudson River Park Friends.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Northeastern University. Ben lives in Brooklyn with wife and two children.

Thomas Byrne
Executive Director, DealPath
Thomas Byrne is an active real estate investor and technology evangelist, thought leading, investor and business leader within the PropTech sector for 20+ years.
Byrne joined Dealpath as Executive Director and Board Member in early 2022 and was most recently at VTS as GM of Marketplaces and VTS Market. Byrne joined VTS thru its acquisition of Property Capsule, where Byrne was the CEO. Prior to those positions, Byrne served as President and Chief Operating Officer of LoopNet for 10 years, one of the fastest-growing and the most profitable companies on the Nasdaq, before its strategic acquisition by CoStar Group in 2012 for $900M. Byrne helped steward the company thru numerous key milestones including revenue growth of 25x over 10 years, early profitability, achieving EBITDA margins of 50%, successful IPO, acquiring and successfully integrating 8 acquisitions, raising $50 million PIPE investment, and the eventual sale to Costar.
Byrne has held board and advisory positions with other leading PropTech companies such as Homesnap, Crowdstreet, Rentlytics, DotLoop, Apto and VTS, and was an early investor in all of them.
Prior to joining LoopNet, Byrne served as Group Vice President of NextCard's Secured Card business unit and held management positions at McKinsey & Company and Prudential Investments working in various investment capacities, including the Prudential Real Estate Group, in both commercial real estate and mortgage loan workout groups.
Byrne holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and has a B.S. of Electrical Engineering, with highest honors, from Georgia Tech.
Paula Campbell Roberts
Managing Director and US Consumer Economist, KKR
Paula Campbell Roberts joined KKR in 2017 and is a U.S. Consumer Economist, Managing Director and the Head of Global Consumer & Real Estate Macro & Thematic Investing (CREM). The CREM team partners with KKR’s global macro, real estate, consumer private equity and credit teams in driving the firm’s thematic investing efforts. Prior to joining KKR, Ms. Roberts was an executive director at Morgan Stanley, where she managed coverage of the US consumer sector, advised Fortune 500 CEOs on their consumer strategy, and used big data to predict inflections in key sectors of the economy. Before Morgan Stanley, Ms. Roberts was a management consultant leading case teams and advising Fortune 500 companies at Bain & Co. Ms. Roberts earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Yale University. Currently, Ms. Roberts serves on the boards of The Brearley School and the American Friends of Jamaica. Ms. Roberts is also a Lincoln Center Leadership Fellow.

Roshan Chagan
Partner, Ares Management Corporation
Roshan Chagan is a Partner at Ares Management Corporation and Head of Ares’s Global Capital Solutions Group. Mr. Chagan founded the Global Capital Solutions Group to standardize and centralize Ares’s global banking relationships and capital markets activities. David Hood

Chau Nguyen is Director of Westlake Capital Partners, a single family office based in Singapore. Chau has significant investment management experience, having worked in a variety of strategies including ventures, buyouts, mezzanine, private debt, hedge funds and fund of funds.
Chua is currently Managing Director at Nile Capital Group. Prior to joining Nile, Chau was Partner at Bennu Venture Group, LLC. Previously, she was a Partner at Progress Investment Management Co., LLC. Senior Investment Officer, Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS)
JR Pearce is a Senior Investment Officer with Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS), an $13.0 billion California public pension plan, responsible for portfolio construction and oversight for SCERS’ alternative assets investments in private credit, real estate, and real assets globally.
Prior to joining SCERS in 2013, Mr. Pearce was actively involved in the institutional real estate industry for over 30 years. During his career, Mr. Pearce served in various senior leadership positions in real estate investment, development, and finance with a range of organizations including institutional investment manager, real estate development company, and real estate owner-operators. Mr. Pearce’s financial background along with his broad real estate experience has enabled him to direct and oversee over $7 billion in real estate development and investment projects across the United States.
Mr. Pearce earned his MBA in Finance from Loyola College, and is a cum laude graduate in Finance and Economics from Towson University. Mr. Pearce is a Certified Public Accountant (in-active) and holds a California Real Estate Brokers license.

Albert C. Tan

Albert Tan is a Partner and Co-Head of the Fund Finance Practice Group with Haynes and Boone, LLP. Dan is responsible for increasing GRESB’s international scope and impact by engaging institutional investors; expanding GRESB participation among private equity firms, multi-national lenders and REITs; establishing industry partnerships; and driving capital market demand for ESG data.
As a representative of GRESB based in the Americas region, Dan covers multiple roles including accelerating market adoption for ESG data; acquiring new GRESB investor members; promoting increased GRESB participation; fulfilling North American speaking engagements; and developing new capital market / product opportunities.
He previously served the U.S. Green Building Council as Senior Fellow for Business Strategy and Finance by providing leadership on a range of topics including green bond underwriting guidelines, asset valuation, lender underwriting, business metrics, and capital market dynamics driving LEED adoption.
