Bertrand leads Ivanhoé Cambridge’s ESG efforts in Europe. His role is to embed ESG at each stage of the investment process, working closely with real estate partners across Europe. Prior to this, he worked 8 years in the real estate industry at different asset managers such as Allianz Real Estate and Aviva Investors, and at Sinteo a sustainability consultancy firm. He is a member of the INREV ESG committee. He graduated from an Engineering school in buildings and an Advanced Master at Ecole des Ponts Paristech.

Chief Executive Officer and General Manager GRE SGR, Generali Real Estate SGR

Alberto Agazzi is the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Generali Real Estate SGR since 2015. GRE SGR is the real estate investment management company of the Generali Group, managing more than 20 real estate funds, with an AUM of 18 bln, focused on the main Global Markets in equity and debt transactions. Alberto joined the Generali Group in 2005 as an investment manager for the Italian real estate portfolio.
In 2009 he became Head of Fund Management for Generali Real Estate SGR, before taking over as the Managing Director of Generali Real Estate – Italy four years later. Prior to joining Generali, he had worked in the real estate advisory team of Mediobanca, and as a project manager for an engineering company. Alberto holds a Master in Business Administration from SDA Bocconi and a Degree in Building Engineering from the Politecnico of Milan.

Andrew is Global Head of Real Estate Research & Strategy at Zurich Insurance, having joined the firm in February 2023. Based in Zurich, he is responsible for shaping the firm’s strategic real estate outlook. He works closely with portfolio managers and investor partners in developing and implementing comprehensive, integrated global investment strategies. He sits on the Investment Committee and is a member of the Leadership Team. Andrew has more than 20 years of experience in real asset research & strategy. Prior to his current role, he was Head of European Research at CBRE Investment Management having worked in London, Paris, and Los Angeles. He has also held positions in land use planning and environmental consulting in the U.S and Germany. He holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, co-chairing the European Office and Mixed Use Council. Andrew is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Britain, fluent in German.

Kristina is the Head of ESG for Barings European Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. She is responsible for the evolution of firm-level real estate ESG strategy, and alignment to the Barings Global sustainability policy. Kristina leads net zero carbon, climate resilience and social value policies development and implementation, which aid the delivery of Barings ESG ambition and support Barings tenants and the value chain. She works alongside the Global Sustainability team and serves on the European Investment Committee and the Barings Real Estate Global ESG Committee.

Lars Axelsson

Head of Logistics (Evolv), Slättö

Lars is a Partner at Slättö and heads up Slättö’s logistics portfolio across all strategies. His role is to manage the activities of the logistics portfolio. Prior to co-founding Evolv in 2015, Lars spent 5 years with corporate real estate advisory firm Tenant & Partner, specializing in sale-leaseback transactions and divestments of industrial properties. He graduated from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm Sweden (MSc in Real estate Management and Financial Services) and Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg Sweden (BSc in Business Development and Entrepreneurship in the field of Construction and Real Estate).

Yolande Barnes

Professor of Real Estate, University College London (UCL)

Yolande is a practice professor who spent 33 years researching property markets in industry before joining UCL as Chair of the Bartlett Real Estate Institute in 2018. As head of World Research at Savills, she took a global, cross-sector view of real estate and became increasingly interested in very long run trends.
Her work at UCL is deliberately unfocussed, looking at the combination and interaction of disruptive trends in demographics, finance, technology, society, the environment, and governments in changing global real estate. She believes that real estate, meaning land and everything attached to it, is at the heart of sustainability. Understanding real estate value in all its forms is therefore essential to solving the wicked problems and grand challenges of the 21st century. To this end, she sees as imperative the communication of knowledge and the activation of partnerships between academia and industry.

Roger Baumann

COO & Head Product Development Global Real Estate, Zurich Insurance

Roger Baumann brings over 20 years of business experience in Real Estate, Consulting, Product Development, IT, Finance, Sustainability and Operations. His previous position was as COO & Head Sustainability Global Real Estate for Credit Suisse Asset Management in Zurich, Switzerland and as Managing Director for the Credit Suisse German entity, Credit Suisse Asset Management KAG, based in Frankfurt. He joined Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. as COO & Head Product Development Global Real Estate based in Zurich effective September 30, 2019. Roger has a Civil Engineering Degree from ETH Zurich and holds an international MBA from the State University of New York. In addition, he is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and non-executive Director of Longevity Partners in London.

Stéphanie Bensimon has 25 years’ experience in the real estate industry. She joined Ardian Real Estate in 2016 to develop the activity. James Boadle

James Boadle is a member of Oxford Properties’ European leadership team and is responsible for setting its European-wide strategy, as well as focusing on the execution of its industrial & logistics strategies across the region. Mr Boadle also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of a number of Oxford’s portfolio companies, including M7 Real Estate and Get Living PLC.

Mr Boadle has 15 years’ experience in the real estate sector and has executed over C$25 billion (£15 billion) of transactions, with global investment experience across all of the major asset classes. Pauline is also responsible for Human Resources and member of the Edge’s executive committee. Prior to joining Edge, Pauline worked at RAI Amsterdam as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary where she was member of the management board and responsible for all legal, compliance and quality aspects of RAI’s business in the Netherlands and abroad. Pauline started her career in 1999 at the international law firm, Stibbe, where she was member of the M&A and Equity Capital Markets teams. Marc-Antoine Bouyer is Co-Head of Carlyle Europe Realty and Head of Acquisitions in the European Real Estate group and is based in London.

Prior to joining Carlyle in 2016, Mr. Bouyer was a Managing Director at Blackstone, where he spent 10 years as a member of the European Real Estate group and contributed to a variety of acquisitions, disposals, financings, restructurings and asset management transactions with a total investment value of more than €4 billion. Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Bouyer worked at Lehman Brothers.

Claire is a futures strategist, lawyer, author and chartered environmentalist with a background in international development and sustainable cities. Working across sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Asia-Pacific, she has devoted her career to tackling critical environmental and social justice challenges.

She has worked with some of the world’s leading thinkers and organisations, including the Household of His Majesty The King Charles III and Commonwealth Heads of State, to develop programmes for climate resilience, nature restoration, and an inclusive, equitable and just transition. Her sector expertise includes built environment, luxury travel, and natural resources.

Leveraging her global and transdisciplinary experience, Claire contributes her thought-leadership as a keynote speaker; guest lecturer at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London; speaker for the Roar Africa Women's Empowerment Programme; author of Dwellbeing: Finding Home in the City (2021); and regular expert commentator on sustainability for national and international media outlets.

Claire is also co-founder of the Active Pregnancy Foundation, and a certified personal trainer and fitness coach. A keen advocate for empowering women and minority groups through physical activity in nature, she maintains her connection to the wilderness through mountaineering and has climbed in some of the remotest parts of the world.

Sue Brown

Sue Brown is managing director for Real Estate Balance, a campaigning organisation working to improve diversity and inclusion in the real estate industry. Sue has three decades of business, property and economic-development experience.

Sue joined Real Estate Balance in April 2020 from London First, where she was executive director with responsibility for property, planning, the environment and development since 2016. Sue started her career in government, serving as a senior advisor in a variety of high-profile roles, before going on to establish her own real estate consultancy.

Sue was a driving force behind the launch of MIPIM, the world’s largest real estate investment conference that takes place each year in Cannes. Andrea Carpenter is a Director of Diversity Talks Real Estate, and a writer and communications consultant in the property industry.

As a Director of Diversity Talks Real Estate, Andrea helps raise the visibility of under-represented groups in the industry through the stage and media. This includes training and other female-led initiatives through DTRE’s Women Talk Real Estate community.

On the writing side, her book about the history of the modern European property industry, High Rise and Fall, was published by Routledge in September 2018.

Andrea began her career as a journalist at Property Week before moving on to be editor of EuroProperty for seven years. Following this she worked for various industry bodies including the Urban Land Institute, INREV in Amsterdam, and its sister organisation ANREV in Hong Kong. On returning to the UK, she worked as Head of Marketing and Communications EMEA at CBRE Global Investors.

Women Talk Real Estate

Women Talk Real Estate offers a practical solution to increase the visibility of women in the industry. We connect female professionals with speaking and press opportunities and offer tailored training for women on all aspects of building a successful stage and media presence. Our database features more than 450 women from across the European property industry and we have had over 120 invitations to speak issued through the system since Autumn 2017.

We believe that visibility matters. For the individual, it brings about better business opportunities and career progression, and it also challenges stereotypes and provides role models for the benefit of the whole industry.

Mr. Cleveland is a partner and the head of EMEA for the real estate team. He is also involved in various investment and portfolio management activities.

Prior to joining StepStone in 2014, Mr. Cleveland was a partner of Clairvue Capital Partners, a real estate investment manager which integrated with StepStone to establish StepStone Real Estate. At Clairvue, Mr. Cleveland focused on originating and executing investments in the US and Europe. Before Clairvue, he was a director at Liquid Realty Partners, an investment manager focused on real estate private equity secondaries. He has also served as a vice president at Capital Dynamics, a Swiss-based private equity manager, and worked in the debt capital markets divisions of Credit Suisse First Boston and Bank of America.

Mr. Cleveland received a BA from the University of South Carolina.

Edward Clough

Ed is responsible for leading Octopus Real Estate and sits on the Investment Committee. Ed joined Octopus in 2017 and previously led our Care Homes and Corporate Development teams. John Cole

Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Real Estate Debt, Cain International

John is a Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Real Estate Debt at Cain International. He is responsible for supporting the development of the firm’s lending arm, primarily focusing on structured debt within the UK, US and Europe. John has over 30 years of experience in real estate debt lending and has been involved in underwriting tens of billions in debt transactions.

His previous roles include director in the global real estate and infrastructure businesses at Guggenheim Investments, the global asset management and investment advisory division of Guggenheim Partners. Before that, he was head of UK real estate finance at Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg (LBBW), where he oversaw the bank’s re-entry into the UK lending market and helped arrange several large bilateral loans, a significant change from the bank’s previous strategy of pursuing largely participative relationships.

Prior to LBBW, John was a senior director at Santander UK where he helped create a new corporate real estate lending business with a book approaching £3bn in commitments. John held positions at Deutsche Postbank London and Bank of Scotland before joining Santander UK.

John is a qualified Football Association (FA) coach and manages local U8 and Ladies teams for Flitwick Eagles FC, an accredited FA partner club in the Bedfordshire League.

Nick Cook is President, Europe at GLP Capital Partners Limited (“GCP”). He joined GLP in 2017 when GLP acquired Gazeley. He was previously COO of Gazeley where he oversaw all capital deployment, disposition and operational aspects of the business in Europe. Nick joined Gazeley in 2002 and held several key positions, including establishing Gazeley’s profitable UAE business unit and looking after Gazeley’s business in China, while maintaining a detailed involvement in all aspects of the European business.

Nick is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and has 20 years’ experience in the real estate development and investment market. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Practice Surveying & Commercial Property Development from Nottingham Trent University and has completed training in several professional courses, including a Management & Leadership program at Harvard Business School.

Jamie Cooper

Portfolio Manager, Dream

Mr. Jamie Cooper joined Dream in 2014 and is currently Portfolio Manager for Dream Impact Fund and a member of Dream’s executive management team. Jamie is responsible for screening and structuring investments that align with Dream’s social and environmental initiatives. He oversees all aspects of the Impact Fund's financial and impact performance. This includes identifying and executing on acquisitions that fit Dream’s criteria, monitoring development progress, and managing portfolio construction and asset allocation. Mr. Cooper has led Dream’s growth into the ownership and management of Canadian apartment properties including working closely with the Federal government to establish innovative financing programs for the creation of affordable and sustainable housing. Adina David is Executive Director at MGT Investment Management where she is responsible for leading the company's rental living strategy, growing the firm’s residential portfolio.

Adina has over 13 years of industry experience. Before joining MGT, Adina was Director of Urban Living at Greystar, where she was responsible for consolidating their global strategy around the development and acquisition of urban living assets. Erika Olsen is the Head of Investments, CIO, and is a member of the Investment Committee.

She has worked in the real estate industry since 2000 and has been active in the Nordic transaction market since the beginning of her career. Previous to Areim she was CIO at Castellum, one of the largest listed property companies in the Nordics. She has also been a partner at Tenzing AB a Swedish real estate advisory company. Prior to that she worked at JLL Cross Boarder Team in London.

Erika holds a MSc in Real Estate and Economics from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Frida Olsson is Portfolio Manager at The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4). She is responsible for the fund’s private real estate portfolio consisting of both larger platforms and fund investments. Frida has a master’s degree in real estate and construction management from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Prior AP4 Frida has worked with real estate investment banking at two Nordic banks as well as a construction consultant. AP4 is a buffer fund in the Swedish public pension system, per June 2022 total AUM amounted to SEK 460 bn. Peer has more than 19 years of experience in various positions in the real estate industry, managing real estate transactions as well as advisory and strategy projects across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions. He was appointed Head of ESG for Global Real Estate at Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) in July 2022, after being Deputy Head of Acquisitions & Sales Europe at CSAM for six years. Prior to joining CSAM, he worked at real estate advisory firms Cushman & Wakefield and JLL in several countries.

Peer has been a passionate driver of sustainability initiatives inside and outside the firm, leading to his appointment as Steering Committee Member of the 2,500 employee strong Credit Suisse Swiss Employees Sustainability Network. Ghada is also responsible for the firm’s Board Practice.

In addition, Ghada runs the company’s management consulting solutions business including succession planning and deal/operating platform introductions. Before founding Sousou Partners, Ghada was a Fund Manager at Wafra Investment Advisory Group in New York where she was responsible for building and managing a portfolio of equity and treasury investments in the Middle East, Latin America and Southern Europe.

Ghada completed her MBA at Babson Graduate School and received her BA in Computer Science from Boston College. She speaks English, Arabic, French and Greek.

Frances Spence joined Swiss Life Asset Managers UK in 2013 as Head of Research and Investment Strategy before assuming her current role in 2015.

Frances is responsible for the economic and market trend analysis, which is integral to Swiss Life Asset Managers UK’s strategic approach to investment.

She also has responsibility for reporting and monitoring investment risk in the UK mandates. She sits on the UK Investment Risk Committee and as the UK representative on the Management Committee Risk at Swiss Life Asset Managers.

Frances has worked in commercial property research for more than 15 years, including several years working in the EMEA research team at JLL, specialising in offices and capital markets.

Frances completed her degree at the University of Warwick and is a member of the Society of Property Researchers and Investment Property Forum.

Elisabeth is an external member of the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee and Financial Market Infrastructure Board, a board member at NYSE listed US REIT W.P.Carey Inc. and Chair of FTSE250 listed Edinburgh Investment Trust plc.

Elisabeth is also an external member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, a member of German listed alstria AG’s Supervisory Board, and a member of Council of the London School of Economics.

Previously, Elisabeth was a Supervisory Board member at Aareal Bank AG, a Senior Advisor to the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority, a non-executive director of the Board of Korian SA and a member of the Supervisory Board of TLG Immobilien AG.

In her executive career Elisabeth was Global Chief Operating Officer for LaSalle Investment Management having previously worked at Morgan Stanley for almost 25 years.

Stéphane joined BC Partners in 2018 to launch BC Partners Real Estate. He is Partner and the Head of BC Partners Real Estate based in Paris.

Previously, Stéphane was Group CEO of Altarea Cogedim, where he oversaw significant growth with the market capitalisation of the business increasing from €1 billion to €3 billion during his tenure and led the successful launch and investment of AltaFund in 2011, a €650m private equity real estate fund sponsored by Altarea Cogedim. Prior to this, he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he led the French and then European Real Estate Investing business.

He holds an MA in Business Administration, EM Lyon Business School and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

Sophie van Oosterom

Sophie van Oosterom joined Schroders in January 2021 as the Global Head of Schroders Real Estate. She is responsible for leading the growth strategy of the business and ultimately delivering investment performance to clients. She chairs the real estate management committee and investment committee.

Sophie was most recently CEO and CIO of EMEA for CBRE Global Investors, where she successfully led change management and growth of the platform to EUR 40bn AuM. She also served as a member of the global executive committee and global investment committee.

Before that Sophie was a managing director at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners (now Silverpeak) and head of asset/portfolio management for Europe and Asia. She started her career in investment banking with JP Morgan and Barings.

Sophie holds a MSc in Economics cum laude from the University of Amsterdam. She is a Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute since January 2020 and an honorary citizen of Marseille, France.

Robert Wolstenholme is CEO and founder of Trilogy Real Estate LLP. Robert has 25 years’ experience in real estate investments and currently heads Trilogy which manages over £1 billion of added value and opportunistic real estate in the UK.

Prior to forming Trilogy, Robert was a principal at Resolution Property, responsible for a number of ground-breaking office developments including Alphabeta in London’s Tech City. He has participated in transactions totalling more than £2.5 billion of value across multiple asset classes and geographies, but became synonymous for creative office repositionings.

His current projects have included ground breaking repositioning projects including 700,000sqft of offices at London’s East India dock which has been turned into a unique ‘shared’ education campus now home to four universities and 20,000 students drawn from across the UK as well as international markets. He is also responsible for the delivery of a 7 acre residential led, mixed-use repositioning in the heart of Manchester’s CBD – The Great Northern.

Robert holds a BSc Honours from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, as well as being a member of the MRICS, and holds qualifications in finance from the Securities Institute. Robert’s many repositioning projects have won multiple awards across the industry.

Trilogy Real Estate LLP

Trilogy Real Estate LLP is a value-add developer and investor that works to unlock hidden potential and breathe new life into old buildings through rigorously considered and highly creative asset management strategies. Trilogy was founded by Robert Wolstenholme in 2015. Michael Zerda

Michael Zerda serves as the Co-CIO for Europe and is Head of European Debt & Value-Add Strategies, responsible for LaSalle’s European value equity strategies and market leading debt platform.

Michael has 22 years’ experience investing in debt and equity opportunities in Europe and the US, across a wide variety of real estate asset classes. Since 2010, he has been responsible for transactions totaling over $21 billion in gross loan commitments and over $8 billion in net equity contributions across 110 individual transactions in major Western European markets spanning senior debt, mezzanine debt, corporate debt, development finance, and equity joint ventures.

Michael was most recently Head of Europe for Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies, where he oversaw the growth of one Europe’s most active non-bank lending platforms and led various notable initiatives, including the first ever financing for a public to private real estate transaction in Europe by a non-bank lender, the establishment of a +€1B pan-European logistics lending program, and expansion into most Western European markets.

Prior to joining Blackstone, Michael spent six years at LaSalle, overseeing the set-up and growth of its debt and special situations platform. During his time at LaSalle, Mr Zerda was involved in raising and deployment of around €2 billion of capital commitments during his tenure across 35 individual equity, whole loan, and mezzanine debt investments.

Prior to joining LaSalle, Michael was Vice President in Merrill Lynch’s Global Principal Investments division in London, where he focused on European equity investments, including the acquisition of a €13B portfolio of non-performing loans and a loan servicing company from Banca Intesa in Italy. Prior to that he worked at Archon Group, Goldman Sachs’ real estate and distressed loan management platform and Archon Capital, Goldman Sachs’ real estate mezzanine platform.

Mr. Zavodov is an executive vice president and portfolio manager in the London office, where he leads the European real estate equity team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2020, he was a managing director in the merchant banking division of Goldman Sachs, focusing on investments in real estate platforms, real estate assets, loans and loan portfolios secured by commercial and residential real estate, and structured equity. He began his career at The Blackstone Group. He has 10 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in financial economics from the University of Cambridge.
