Ms. Jinglei Chen is the Managing Director and Founding member of BEI Capital, which is an Asian-based global real estate and alternative investment and operating company. BEI has set up two operating platforms, in creative stay-work-play, and healthcare. Johnny Chen
Chief Operating Officer, Paladin Capital Management
Johnny Chen is Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Paladin Capital Management. He is responsible for administering the real estate fund focused on residential and distressed financing and related investments, also overlooking fundraising and business development efforts. Previously he was Chief Investment Officer of Central China International Asset Management, the overseas investment arm of Central China Securities. Prior to being based in Hong Kong / Shenzhen, he served as acting Chief Financial Officer for the Taiwan-based biosimilar start-up JHL Biotech, which went IPO on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2016. Mr. Chen began his career in the JPMorgan Investment Bank and included time at Morgan Stanley Private Equity and two Asia-focused long/short equity hedge funds. Mr. Chen has over 14 years of experience in the Asian investment landscape. He graduated from Stanford with a BA in Economic with Honors and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Grant Chien
Head of Special Situations Financing, InfraRed NF Investment Advisers
Grant Chien is Head of Special Situation Financings and is a member of the executive committee at InfraRed NF Investment Advisers Limited (formerly known as HSBC NF Investment Advisers Limited). He is responsible for the firm’s real estate lending investments in Greater China, multiple fundraising assignments and investor relations whilst based in Hong Kong and London. Prior to joining the platform, he worked at Lehman Brothers Asia Real Estate Private Equity platform focusing on Asian real estate investment opportunities. Mr. Chien holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He was amongst the global list of top 30 “Rising Stars 2019” selected by the Private Debt Investor magazine.
Charmaine Chin
SVP and Portfolio Manager, Fullerton Fund Management
At Fullerton, Charmaine assesses external fund strategies and is also responsible for portfolio management -- monitoring and developing recommendations for investment and divestment for the team’s portfolios. Prior to joining Fullerton, Charmaine spent close to 12 years as a Managing Director at K2 Advisors, part of Franklin Templeton Investments' Alternatives division in New York. She was responsible for external manager selection and due diligence across alternative asset classes globally, focusing on hedge funds and private credit. Charmaine was also the lead Portfolio Manager for the award-winning Franklin K2 Long Short Credit Fund 40 Act. Before Franklin Templeton, Charmaine was from Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Special Situations Group in New York. In this role, she invested in distressed credit and equity investments across a variety of sectors. Prior to that, she worked in Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking division in New York and Hong Kong. Charmaine holds a BA from Harvard University.
Yulanda Chung
Head of Sustainability, Institutional Banking Group, DBS
Yulanda Chung joined DBS in 2017 and is currently the Head of Sustainability of DBS Institutional Banking Group in Singapore. She spearheads the development and implementation of the Bank’s responsible financing framework and advises on environmental and social issues pertaining to client activities and transactions. Yulanda was previously the Head of Sustainable Finance at Standard Chartered in London, where she shaped the bank’s policies and governance procedures on sustainable lending and investments. Before joining the banking sector, she was an equity analyst for the mining and building materials sectors at RobecoSAM (previously known as Sustainable Asset Management) in Zurich, Switzerland. She graduated with a Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University.
Kevin Colket
Founder and CEO, Global Hospitality Investment Group (GHIG)
Kevin Colket is the Founder and CEO of the Global Hospitality Investment Group (GHIG), a real estate private equity firm incorporated in January 2019. GHIG invests in distressed and under-valued hotels (single assets, portfolios, and operating companies) and other hospitality-led real estate asset classes (student housing, co-living, serviced apartments, and senior housing) in major gateway cities and select resort destinations in the United States, Europe, and the Asia Pacific.
GHIG’s mission is to leverage its senior management teams’ and its advisory team’s highly unique, specialized, and global combined experience in real estate and hotel investments, hotel operations, and hospitality in order to create more technology, service, and experience-driven real estate uses that better meet the changing needs and desires of corporate and leisure consumers in a post COVID-19 world, and ultimately generate superior risk adjusted investment returns for its investors.
Prior to founding GHIG in January 2019, Mr. Colket spent 11+ years working at Starwood Capital Group across the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions where he held various hospitality group leadership positions, including Co-Head of the Global Hotel Acquisitions Group, Head of the European Hotel Acquisitions Group, and Head of the Asia Pacific Hotel Group. Prior to his departure in late 2018, Mr. Colket led the firm’s Asia Pacific Real Estate Acquisitions Group from its Hong Kong office.
Prior to joining Starwood Capital, Mr. Colket worked as Director of Acquisitions and Development for Edinburgh Management, a U.S. based hotel joint venture with the Bank of Scotland.
Mr. Colket earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA in economics from Trinity College.
James Dilley
Partner, PwC
James is a Partner in the Deals practice at PwC China. James and his team provide deal advisory services to investors in Chinese private debt, including direct lending, stressed and distressed opportunities. The vast majority of the situations that James' team advise on are backed by Chinese or overseas real estate assets. James’ team help clients with deal sourcing, due diligence, investment underwriting and post-deal investment monitoring. His team are currently working with a number of Chinese real estate developers to negotiate financing or refinancing packages and investors who are looking to lend against these assets. In addition, his team are responsible for overseeing the servicing of a number of China distressed credit portfolios, meaning he has first hand experience of the domestic liquidity and other challenges of realizing value from real estate in onshore stressed situations. Prior to moving to Asia in 2014, James was part of PwC UK's equivalent distressed asset investment lead advisory business in Europe. James is a Chartered Accountant and sits on the China Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Hannah Jeong
Head of Valuation & Advisory Services, Colliers International
Hannah Jeong has over 15 years’ experience in valuation and advisory, specialising in valuation, development consultancy, financial analysis and feasibility studies; while working across the Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern regions. Appointed as Head of Valuation & Advisory Services for Colliers Hong Kong, Hannah oversees the Hong Kong operations for the Valuation & Advisory Services team, including developing client relationships, delivering major reports and looking at new initiatives to strengthen Colliers’ position as a market leader. For the past years, Hannah has helped several major financial institutions, including global real estate funds and private equity firms such as Link Reit, Prosperity Reit, Champion Reit, Sunlight Reit, Goodman, PAG, Angelo Gordon and Kailong. Hannah also actively involves in our Women in Business focus group, where she helps drive Colliers’ initiatives around women empowerment and gender equality in the workplace. Hannah obtained her master’s degree in real estate from the University of Hong Kong, and a bachelor’s degree majoring in urban planning from the University of Hongik. She is a member of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.
Jiroo Eoh
Department Head of Alternative Investment, ABL Life Insurance
Jiroo Eoh is the Department Head of Alternative Investment at ABL Life Insurance (Korea). Jiroo is in charge of all alternative investment sectors. Previously, Jiroo worked with Macquarie Group (Macquarie Capital and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, both Australia and Korea). He is experienced in not only advisory businesses but also established and managed various funds such as Macquarie Korea Infrastructure Fund (MKIF), PPP funds, power and energy related infrastructure funds and real estate/ real asset funds. Jiroo received a Bachelor of Commerce/Law combined degree from University of Sydney and a Master of Laws degree from University of New South Wales in Australia. He is a qualified Lawyer and a CPA in Australia. He is native in both English and Korean.
James Haines
General Manager and Head of Global Real Estate Structured Debt, Aozora Bank
J.J. Haines is the Head of Global Real Estate Structured Debt at Aozora Bank. He is responsible for the bank’s ex-Japan real estate lending activity, which focuses on developed markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Prior to joining Aozora, he worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was most recently Japan COO of Global Corporate & Investment Banking. Prior to BofAML, he worked in both real estate finance origination and risk management at Shinsei Bank. Mr. Haines began his career in sales and marketing at Hakuto Co., Ltd. He holds a BA from Amherst College, an MA from Columbia University, and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Mark Harrison
Managing Director – Property, Wingate
Mark Harrison has over twenty years’ experience in the Australian property and property finance sectors. Mark joined Wingate in 2008 as Managing Director, Property and has overseen the growth of the property division into one of Australia’s most active real estate debt and equity investors. Mark’s extensive experience in property includes direct property investment, development and structured capital transactions both as principal and lender.
Daniel Humphrey Rodriguez
Head of Fund Manager Research, PERE
Daniel Humphrey Rodriguez is PDI’s Head of Fund Manager Research. Based in London, he is responsible for leading PDI’s research and analysis of private market GPs globally. He is also responsible for a number of leading market rankings and reports such as the PDI 50 and PEI 300. Daniel graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with an Upper Second class Honours degree in Mathematics and Management.
Kumar Kalyanakumar
Head of Australia, Real Assets, AXA Investment Managers
Kumar is Head of Australia, Real Asset’s at AXA Investment Managers Alts. He was appointed to the position in February 2018. Kumar has been involved in the real estate investment management sector for over 30 years. As one of the founders of Eureka, the Australian investment and asset management business that AXA-IM Real Assets acquired in September 2016, he has been heavily involved in the running of the business since its establishment in 2004.
Rai Katimansah
Managing Director, Direct Lending and Special Situations, SC Capital Partners
Rai Katimansah currently serves as Managing Director, Direct Lending and Special Situations. Based in Singapore, he oversees the firm’s credit investments across the Asia Pacific region.
Mr. Katimansah joined the firm in 2023 with over 25 years of real estate investment experience in Asia Pacific. He previously worked at Sun Hung Kai & Co. Limited, where he was Partner and Portfolio Manager of Multiple Capital Investment Partners (MCIP), a Sun Hung Kai-sponsored global real estate debt fund. Prior to that, he was Managing Director, Head of Debt Investments & Head of Southeast Asia Real Estate Investments at Phoenix Property Investors. Earlier in his career, Mr. Katimansah held roles in a number of investment firms in both the United States and Asia Pacific.
Mr. Katimansah holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture & Urban Planning from Cornell University and a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jonathan Lau
Director of Investment, Pacific Tiger Group
Jonathan is a Director of investment focused on direct investments across private equity, real estate and private credit. Prior to joining PTG in 2020, Jonathan was a Principal at The Family Office investing in private markets for The Family Office, Vice President at Tiger Group Investments, investment analyst at Deephaven Capital Management and in the investment banking team of BNP Paribas. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, a Master of Arts in East Asian Studies from Columbia University.
Nunzio Laurenziello
Head of Debt Investments, Generali Real Estate
Nunzio Laurenziello is Head of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Debt at Generali Real Estate SGR. Mr. Laurenziello is responsible for the strategy, investment and portfolio management of real estate debt investments in Europe.
Prior to joining Generali in 2018, he was a Director of Houlihan Lokey in Italy, where he was involved in structuring and closing European real estate M&A and debt transactions secured by properties located in Italy, France and Germany.
Mr. Laurenziello earned an MSc in Economics and Business cum laude and a Bachelors degree in Economics from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
Evelyn Lee
Editor for PERE, PEI Group
Evelyn Lee is Editor for PEI’s real estate-focused publication, PERE, overseeing global news and analysis coverage. Based in London, she works closely with PERE colleagues across PEI’s offices in New York, London and Hong Kong and also writes about European and global news for the publication. Prior to joining PEI in 2011, she covered commercial real estate, economic development and the environment at NJBIZ, a New Jersey-focused business newspaper and website.
Varun Malik

Varun Malik is the Head of Real Estate Client Coverage for APAC at MSCI Inc. MSCI Real Estate delivers analytical solutions, objective indexes and benchmarks and highly relevant research to help asset owners and asset managers make better decisions throughout the investment process. He was most recently Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s (MUFG Bank) Head of Real Estate, Sector Coverage and Acquisition Finance with an oversight of Real Estate activities across the broader Asia Pacific region (ex-Japan). Prior to MUFG Bank, he was a Director at Standard Chartered Bank’s Commercial Real Estate division overseeing strategic client coverage and deal origination across the debt and advisory business in Southeast Asia and Australia. Varun holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Cambridge (Queens’ College).
Benjamin McCarron
GRESB Ambassador, Asia, GRESB
Benjamin McCarron is the Founder and Managing Director of Asia Research & Engagement (ARE) and Lead Representative for GRESB in Asia-ex Japan. He founded ARE in 2013 to provide specialist research, consulting, and engagement services on the financial relevance of sustainability and governance to investors, companies, banks and not-for-profits. ARE engages with a range of companies and banks on themes such as sustainable real estate, energy transition, and sustainable protein. ARE also represents GRESB in Asia excluding Japan. Benjamin is a former fund manager, Oxford graduate and a frequent media commenter on sustainability topics.
Masafumi Nimura
Assistant Manager, Overseas Property Investment, Tokio Marine Asset Management
At Tokio Marine Asset Management, Masafumi is responsible for managing the global real estate fund of funds and separate accounts, conducting investment analysis and due diligence on real estate funds and joint ventures. Previously, Masafumi worked with Nippon Life Insurance Company where he was in charge of developing the global infrastructure debt fund investment program, and was also responsible for due diligence across real estate and infrastructure funds. Masafumi received a Bachelor of Economics degree from University of Tokyo.
Christie Ou
Senior Reporter, PERE
Christie Ou is the Asia-Pacific reporter for PERE covering the private equity real estate markets in the region. Prior to joining PERE, she covered Asia’s business market for Bloomberg Business Week Chinese and the credit market for UK based Private Debt Investor. She is a native speaker of Cantonese and Mandarin, with solid command of writing and speaking in English. Christie holds her bachelor degree at London School of Economics and a master degree in journalism at the University of Hong Kong.

Catriona Paterson

Catriona Paterson is founding Director of Paterson Sustainability. She is an environmental and social professional with more than 25 years of experience, in 34 countries, specialising in developing and emerging markets. Catriona has been based in Asia for 12 years and provides senior level advice to Private Equity Funds and development financial institutions. She advises on environmental and social risk management and value creation and provides mentoring and training to banking and investment professionals, sustainability professionals and company boards. For almost ten years Catriona has worked as an Environment and Social Specialist on a consultancy basis at IFC in South Asia and East Asia and Pacific regions, undertaking due diligences and supervision of direct investments in infrastructure, manufacturing and services sectors as well as financial intermediaries. She has worked with investors in infrastructure developments including real estate, roads, renewable energy, thermal power, ports; manufacturing; and agribusiness; healthcare and education; transportation and logistics; and mining. She is experienced in issues relating to land acquisition, biodiversity, indigenous peoples and cultural heritage as well as environmental and community health and safety and labour practices in Asia.
Andrew Radkiewicz
Global Head of Private Debt Strategy and Investor Solutions, PGIM Real Estate
Andrew Radkiewicz is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate and global head of Private Debt Strategy and Investor Solutions. Based in London, Andrew is responsible for developing and implementing real estate debt fund product architecture and strategic solutions for global investors. He also has oversight for PGIM Real Estate’s global banking relationships. Andrew is a member of the Global Management Council and Investment Committee, and the Global Operating Risk Committee. Previously, Andrew was co-head of Europe where he was responsible for PGIM Real Estate’s European businesses. In 2007, Andrew co-founded the boutique fund manager Paramount Private Equity, which was subsequently absorbed by PGIM Real Estate in 2009 to form the Pramerica Real Estate Capital (PRECap) platform. Prior to founding Paramount Private Equity, Andrew spent 13 years at N M Rothschild in London, most recently as managing director of Real Estate Finance and Debt Capital Markets. Earlier, he worked for Credit Lyonnais and Lloyds. Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Warwick University.
Matt Salem

Matt Salem (New York) joined KKR in 2015 and is a Partner and Head of Real Estate Credit. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of KKR Real Estate Finance Trust Inc (NYSE: KREF). Mr. Salem sits on KKR's Rea Estate Investment Committees. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Salem was a managing director at Rialto Capital Management. Before joining Rialto in 2012, he was a managing director and head of CMBS trading at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 2006, Mr. Salem held positions at Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Alternative Investments where he invested in mezzanine debt and other high yield CRE credit on behalf of the Travelers Insurance Companies. He began his career in 1996 at Midland Loan Services in Kansas City. Mr. Salem has a B.A. in Economics from Bates College. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council and as Chair of the B-Piece Buyer Forum.
Bill Schwab

Bill Schwab has served as Global Head of Real Estate for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) from January 2009 to June 2018. He managed an investment portfolio including direct and indirect investments, public & private debt and equity, across global markets.
Bill joined ADIA in January 2009 from JP Morgan Securities Ltd. where he was Managing Director for EMEA. Previously, he worked for Deutsche Bank, London, as Director Real Estate, and Goldman Sachs, New York, as Chief Lending Officer - Real Estate.
Prior to his banking experience, Bill worked in real estate development and construction, including as Chief Operating Officer, Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions, Project Manager - Development, Director of Estimating-Scheduling-Purchasing, and Job Superintendent.

Richard Spencer

Richard Spencer is a partner in the real estate investing business of the Merchant Banking Division (MBD). He is a member of the MBD Real Estate Investment Committee. Previously, he was co-head of the European Real Estate Financing Group. Richard joined Goldman Sachs in 2009. He was named managing director in 2012 and partner in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Richard worked in the Real Estate Principal Transactions Group at Morgan Stanley. Richard is a director of iQ Student Accommodation, one of the largest owners and operators of student housing in the UK, and Good Host Spaces, a student accommodation platform in India. Richard earned a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Warwick in 1996.
Mervyn Tang
Global Head of ESG Research, Fitch Ratings
Mervyn Tang is a Senior Director and Global Head of ESG Research in Fitch Ratings’ Sustainable Finance division, based in Hong Kong. Mervyn oversees a global research team of 3 which primarily focus on thematic and cross sector ESG research. Mervyn re-joined Fitch Ratings in March 2019 from MSCI Inc., where he was Head of Fixed Income in their ESG Research department, based in Hong Kong. Mervyn has worked with fixed income investors globally supporting them on integrating ESG into their investment process. Prior to joining MSCI in 2017, Mervyn was a Director in Fitch’s Sovereign Group, with the Asia-Pacific team. Mervyn has also worked as an international economist at the Bank of England in London, a diplomat at the British Embassy in Washington DC, and an equities analyst at Citigroup. Mervyn earned an MSc in Economics with distinction from Birkbeck College, University of London, and a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University. He is a CFA Charterholder.
Lennart van Mierlo
Head of Commercial Real Estate Debt, NN Investment Partners
Lennart has spent his career in the Banking and Investment Management industry. He is Head of Commercial Real Estate Debt and member of the Alternative Credit Management Team within NN Investment Partners, headquartered in The Netherlands. He started the CRE Debt platform in 2014 at ING Investment Management (NN Investment Partners’ predecessor) and has since then been responsible for scaling up the European platform to the current ca. EUR 5bn AuM spread across 14 countries.
Lennart is Vice-Chairman of the INREV Debt Vehicles Focus Group and was a member of the Debt Advisory Board for the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).
Prior to NN IP, Lennart held positions up to VP at ING Real Estate Finance in The Netherlands, Spain and France, covering the European market, focusing on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions (loan origination, distribution and restructuring). Lennart joined ING Bank initially as a Real Estate Management Trainee, performing rotations in The Netherlands, Central & Eastern Europe, Spain & Portugal and Operations.

Trent Winduss

Mr. Winduss has over 19 years’ experience in the origination and execution of structured real estate investments including senior debt, stretch senior debt, mezzanine debt, distressed debt, preferred equity and equity transactions.
As the Head of Asia Secured Debt Investments, he oversees all debt investments made by Phoenix across China, South East Asia and Australia.
As the Head of Australian Investments he is responsible for the origination and execution of all debt and equity investments made by Phoenix in Australia. Trent joined Phoenix from Qualitas Property Partners where he was a Director of the Real Estate Finance Team. Prior to Qualitas, he was a senior originator at Investec Bank within the Structured Real Estate Finance team and has also worked at Rothschild with a focus on real estate and infrastructure debt and advisory transactions.
Mr. Winduss holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Finance (Honours) from Edith Cowan University and a Master of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Western Australia.
Helena Wright
Vice President, WWF
Dr. Helena Wright is a Vice President at WWF in Singapore where her work focuses on sustainable infrastructure and energy finance, including leading on the topic of sustainable infrastructure finance in WWF’s global network. Prior to joining WWF, Helena worked for think tank E3G on sustainable finance and has also worked for the UK Government on international climate finance. Helena has previously worked for the United Nations based in Bangkok, and has advised businesses on renewable energy and resource efficiency. She has published several book chapters and articles on sustainability in peer-reviewed journals, and was a contributory author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Helena completed her PhD and Masters degree at Imperial College London, and holds an undergraduate degree from Cambridge University.
Eddie Yeh

Eddie Yeh is SMBC’s Asia Head of Real Estate Financing. SMBC provides financing to real estate clients across the APAC region on both recourse and non-recourse basis covering the full spectrum of asset classes. Eddie comes with over 25 years of legal, banking and real estate experience and prior to joining SMBC, he was Head of Corporate Finance for Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) in Hong Kong as well holding senior positions in the real estate teams of Standard Chartered and Citi in London and Hong Kong. He started his career as a finance lawyer at Allen & Overy. He has extensive experience in both debt and equity markets including senior and mezzanine debt, convertible and high yield bonds and various forms of private and public equity investment.
Dong Hun Jang

Mr. Jang joined the firm in April 2022 as a senior advisor at Yulchon, a major law firm in Korea. Previously, he had senior management oversight of POBA investments as a CIO totaling around US$ 17bn and led the strategic expansion in the overseas investment area given the growing importance of asset size and portfolio diversification. He was responsible for POBA's investment portfolio spanning equity, fixed income, and alternatives. Previously, he was the assistant director of the Financial Supervisory Services (FSS) of Korea. With 34 years of experience in the investment industry managing equity and private equity portfolios, he is an all-rounded investment executive who worked across multiple functions in both the private and the public sectors. He was the CEO of AllianceBernstein Asset Management (Korea) and the CIO of Woori Asset Management. He is a member of various investment advisory committees such as The Government Employees Pension Service, The Police Mutual Aid Association, The Mutual Aid for Small Enterprises & Enterprisers, The National Housing Fund, The Scientists & Engineers Mutual Aid, and The Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. He earned an MBA from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. from Dongguk University.

Duncan Scorey

Duncan leads CapGen’s private equity, real estate and fixed income research function, identifying the most valuable managers and strategies in these asset classes. He oversees $430million of investments across our portfolios, manages our relationships with general partners and represents our clients on several advisory boards. Duncan joined CapGen in 2008 from AXA UK where he oversaw the company’s direct property and private equity programmes, initiated their first co-investment deals and executed their first private equity real estate transactions. He started his career at Sapient Ltd and then at IBM. Duncan has a degree in Engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Duncan is a CFA® charterholder and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
