Elise Ablin
Director, Private Credit, Cresset Partners
Elise Ablin is a Director on Cresset’s Private Investments Team. She manages Cresset’s platform for private credit investing in external funds, co-investments, and related opportunities, in partnership with leading third-party, private asset managers.
Prior to joining Cresset, Elise held various corporate underwriting and business development roles in BMO’s Commercial Bank after completing the bank’s commercial analyst development program.
Elise earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from Rollins College.

Soyoun Ahn
Managing Director, Credit and Hybrid Solutions, Temasek
Soyoun Ahn joined Temasek in July 2017 in the New York office and serves as Managing Director on the Credit and Hybrid Solutions team. Soyoun’s work experience has focused on credit-oriented principal investing and leveraged financings. She previously held positions at TPG Special Situations Partners (now operating as Sixth Street Partners) and J.P. Morgan’s Syndicated & Leveraged Finance Group. Soyoun received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Devi Aurora
Managing Director & Head, Financial Institutions and Alternative Funds Ratings, S&P Global
Based in New York, Devi Aurora is Managing Director and Analytical Manager at S&P Global Ratings. She heads a diversified portfolio of U.S. financial institutions in S&P’s ratings practice, and her team of experienced analysts has a portfolio that covers U.S. banks, securities firms, financial market infrastructure companies, and alternative funds. As team leader, she manages relationships with issuers and investors, and is responsible for ensuring analytical rigor and consistency across financial institutions and alternative funds ratings.
Prior to her most recent position, she served as a senior member of the global Financial Institutions team, where she analyzed banks and other financial institutions and specialized in research and thoughtleading commentaries on banking industry trends and regularly represented S&P’s views on these topics.
Devi began her career as an international macroeconomist and country risk expert at DRI/Global Insight. She subsequently specialized in fixed income research and corporate credit trends analysis for S&P Global, with a focus on default research and leveraged finance. She has 25 years of experience with credit analysis, fixed-income analytics, economic modeling and forecasting.
Devi holds a M.A. degree in international economics from Yale University and a B.A. degree in Economics and French from Vassar College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa

Akhil Bansal
Head of Credit Strategic Solutions, Carlyle
Akhil Bansal is a Managing Director and Head of Credit Strategic Solutions, an investment strategy that invests in private credit, structured financings backed by portfolios of assets and investments and Co-Portfolio Manager for Carlyle’s Revolving Loan strategy. In addition, Akhil works closely with Fortitude Re, Carlyle’s strategic insurance investment, to invest in private fixed income and credit on behalf of Fortitude’s balance sheet. Akhil is a member of the Carlyle Structured Solutions Investment Committee and Carlyle Revolving Loan Fund Investment Committee. He is based in New York.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Akhil was a Director at KKR, where he worked across the credit asset management, capital markets and balance sheet segments in a variety of projects spanning principal investing, strategy, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives. Prior to joining KKR, he worked in investment banking at Bear Stearns and J.P. Morgan in a multi-disciplinary role across M&A, leveraged finance and equity and debt capital markets.
Akhil holds Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.
He earned a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Zak Bentley
Americas Editor, Infrastructure Investor
Zak Bentley is Americas editor at Infrastructure Investor, based in New York. Zak joined Infrastructure Investor in London in 2016 from Centaur where he was a reporter at their Clean Energy Pipeline title. He now leads Infrastructure Investor’s coverage across the Americas region and has a detailed knowledge and experience of the financial and regulatory aspects of the global infrastructure market. He is also editor of Infrastructure Investor’s weekly newsletter The Pipeline. Zak has a degree in English and History from the University of Birmingham.

Jennie Benza
Private Markets, General Electric Pension
Ms. Benza serves as Investment Manager for the General Electric Pension focused on the private markets. She previously worked for Abbott Capital, where she was most recently a Principal and a member of the Investment Committee. Before joining Abbott, she was a Vice President with DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, an Associate with THL Partners, and a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst with Merrill Lynch. Ms. Benza received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from NYU Stern and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Fran Beyers
Portfolio Manager, Cliffwater
Fran Beyers, Managing Director, is the Head of Capital Markets at Cliffwater, an investment advisory and asset management firm specializing in alternative investments, including private equity, private debt, hedge funds, real assets, and real estate.
Fran is also a co-portfolio manager for the firm’s $21 billion flagship interval fund, Cliffwater Corporate Lending Fund (CCLFX). Fran is responsible for sourcing middle market lending opportunities and maintaining manager relationships to support Cliffwater’s rapidly growing multi-manager private debt asset management business. Fran also manages Cliffwater’s proprietary and widely used direct lending index, the Cliffwater Direct Lending Index (CDLI).
Prior to joining Cliffwater, Fran served as the Head of Analysis for Middle Market Loans at Refinitiv LPC. While in this role, she provided data, analytics and created web-based products for the direct lending market. Prior to that, she held positions at Churchill Asset Management focused on middle market leveraged financings for private equity portfolio companies. She began her career at J.P. Morgan, with roles including Ratings and Capital Structure Advisory and Credit Portfolio Management.
Fran has been acknowledged as a thought leader for her research, commentary, analysis and data collection for the direct lending and middle market asset class for over a decade and is frequently cited by media outlets.
Fran received her B.S.B.A. from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.

Graham Bippart
Senior Editor, Capital Markets and Compliance, PEI Group
Graham Bippart is Senior Editor of PEI Group publications Buyouts and Private Funds CFO, and coordinates capital markets and regulation coverage across the group. He has been a financial journalist for 15 years, covering a wide range of sectors including securitization, bank capital, global regulation, sovereign restructurings, over-the-counter derivatives and more. Before PEI Group, he wrote for Euromoney magazine and affiliate titles in New York and London.

Bill Brady
Partner, Akin Gump
Bill Brady works with many of the market’s most active private credit investors and direct lenders. He advises complex finance transactions and credit arrangements, including financings that include multiple tranches of debt. He regularly structures and negotiates a wide range of financing facilities, such as mezzanine debt, second-lien loans, unitranche facilities, first-out/last-out and term "B" facilities, and holdco note purchases.
Bill has extensive experience in intercreditor and interlender issues, secured creditor and bankruptcy rights and debt restructurings. He regularly negotiates intercreditor and subordination agreements, agreements among lenders and other complex interlender agreements.
Bill has structured and closed more than 300 financings in transactions valued between $25 million and $4.5 billion. He is frequently quoted in the media on private credit and other financing developments.

Isabelle Brennan
Senior Managing Director, Product Specialist – Credit and Global Solutions, LaSalle
Isabelle Brennan rejoined LaSalle as a Senior Managing Director in 2024, having previously worked within the Investor Relations team between 2015 and 2017. As Product Specialist – Credit and Global Solutions, she works with clients on a global basis to drive capital raising efforts in these verticals, as well as ensuring that LaSalle’s strategies meet investor needs. She is a member of the Investor Relations Management Board.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Isabelle held similar roles across the Credit and Indirect platforms at CBRE IM and M&G Investments, with responsibility for capital raising and investor relations across these channels globally. Earlier in her career, Isabelle worked within the Indirect and Fund of Funds Investment teams at Henderson Global Investors, now Nuveen (EMEA) and Prupim, now M&G Real Estate (Global), underwriting, investing and managing multi-manager investments on behalf of global clients.
Isabelle received her Bachelor’s degree from Monash University, Melbourne, and holds an Master of Science in Real Estate from Cass Business School, London. She also holds UK qualifications in Psychology and Law. She is active across industry organizations, sitting on the INREV debt working group, and as Treasurer of the Cambridge Land Economy Advisory Board (CLEAB).

Nicole Byrns
Partner, Dumar Capital Partners
Nicole Byrns is an accomplished asset-backed finance investor with 20+ year track record of private investing and financing experience at funds and financial institutions. Ms Byrns is currently a senior advisor to funds considering launching a structured finance strategy and to specialty finance companies looking to optimize their capital structure. Previously, Ms Byrns was Managing Director at Canada’s largest pension plan, CPP Investments (CPPIB). She was a senior leader in CPPIB’s Capital Solutions Group where she focused on developing and growing the fund’s private structured credit platform. She managed $3.5bn credit portfolio that focused on asset-backed lending, specialty finance, renewables, CLOs and fintech sectors. She also led the division’s financing practices that oversaw a $47bn leverage portfolio. She was a member of the Real Assets Credit, Capital Solutions and Leveraged Finance Investment Committees.
Prior to CPP Investments, Ms. Byrns was at Deutsche Bank’s Global Credit Trading group where she developed innovative financing solutions for her clients in the fintech, aviation, mortgage and esoteric industries. Previously, she was at Garrison Investment Group and Citi where she was responsible for originating and executing asset-based financings and whole loan purchase programs.
Ms. Byrns is a distinguished writer, contributor, and conference speaker, known for her engagements at industry-leading events such as the Kayo Women’s Group and ABS East. She regularly publishes insightful articles for "Credit Check," a forum dedicated to discussing trends in the asset-based finance industry. A strong advocate for women's advancement in financial services, Ms. Byrns frequently contributes to "Balancing the Books," where she explores themes affecting women in private credit. Additionally, she has collaborated with the Structured Finance Association on various research publications and is an editorial board member for SFA’s Structured Finance Journal.
Ms Byrns received a BA from Wellesley College and an MA from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. She also studied at L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) as a Rotary Scholar. She serves on the board of Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement.

Kristen Campana
Partner, Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP
Kristen V. Campana represents a wide variety of direct and alternative lenders, particularly those involving private sources of capital, including private debt funds, hedge funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, specialty finance companies and business development companies in domestic and cross-border financings across the capital structure in connection with leveraged buyouts, convertible debt, equity investments, and project financings.
Kristen has experience in bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, work-outs, and distressed debt purchases and sales, as well as second lien and mezzanine financings, and other subordinated debt financings. She represents debtor-in-possession lenders, pre-petition lenders, and unsecured creditors' committees in bankruptcy proceedings. She also provides general credit review analysis for lenders and potential debt purchasers.

Sara Casey
Director, AB Private Credit Investors
Sara Casey is a Director of AB NAV Lending, where she is one of the initial senior team members involved in the development of the net asset value (NAV) lending strategy. Her responsibilities include deal sourcing, structuring, underwriting and execution, and portfolio management. Prior to joining AB in 2023, Sara was a principal at Hark Capital, where she sourced and executed NAV loans. Prior to Hark Capital, she was an associate at Wells Fargo Securities. Sara is a member of the Fund Finance Association’s NextGen Committee and was the Fund Finance Association’s 2023 NextGen Member of the Year. She holds a BS in finance from Providence College.

Ray Chan
Partner, Atalaya Capital Management
Raymond Chan is a Partner at Atalaya and is responsible for the firm’s investing in Financial Assets, which focuses on sourcing and executing specialty finance and other private asset-backed transactions. Prior to joining Atalaya, Ray was a Partner and Co-Founder of TTM Capital, LLC, an investment firm focused on acquiring and lending against portfolios of financial and other assets. Previously, he was a Managing Director and co-head of the Assets Group at Highbridge/Zwirn Capital Management. Earlier in his career, Ray was a member of the Principal Transaction and Principal Finance teams at Lehman Brothers and worked on numerous securitizations across multiple asset classes at Salomon Brothers. He began his career as a consultant at Price Waterhouse, followed by internal consulting and operations roles at Lehman Brothers. He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University.

Thomas Cockburn
Senior Director, Private Debt, CDPQ
Thomas Cockburn is Senior Director, Corporate Credit at CDPQ. Mr. Cockburn has responsibility over origination and execution of private credit opportunities in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, he is engaged in the development and monitoring of the private debt investment strategy and portfolio.
Before joining CDPQ, Mr. Cockburn worked for Power Corporation of Canada, a diversified holding company with a focus on financial services, where he was responsible for mergers & acquisitions as well as corporate finance activities for the holding’s portfolio companies. Prior to this, he spent 8 years at GE Capital, successively in real estate M&A and in leveraged finance roles. During his tenure at the company, he was involved in the creation of Mubadala GE Capital, a structured finance joint venture between Abu Dhabi state fund Mubadala and GE Capital. He later joined Mubadala GE Capital’s investments team as a Vice-President and was responsible for executing leveraged and structured finance transactions in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to his time at GE Capital, he started his career in investment banking at Desjardins Securities.
Mr. Cockburn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science - Finance, both from HEC Montréal.

Harrison Connery
Senior Reporter, PERE, PEI Group
Harrison Connery is a senior reporter at PERE, where he covers capital raising and placement. Prior to joining PERE, he worked as a residential real estate reporter at The Real Deal, where he covered the business of residential real estate brokerages and New York City’s luxury market. He got his start in journalism covering business at the Republican-American newspaper in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he also got paid to watch his favorite band, U2, in concert. Harrison graduated from Columbia University in 2022 with a master’s degree in data journalism.

Dan Contardi

He has broad experience across industries and investment types, and has completed equity co-investment and secondary transactions in addition to debt investments during his tenure at Neuberger Berman. Josh Lafer

Josh Lafer is a Managing Director and the Head of Portfolio Insights for Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI) based in New York. Previously, he was a credit portfolio manager at Loeb King Capital and Havens Advisors, as well as a senior vice president at Jefferies & Co. He also served as a vice president at Indosuez Capital, a middle market merchant banking and asset management business, where he worked closely with Churchill’s CEO, Ken Kencel. Amir Madden

Before joining APG US, Amir Madden was a Portfolio Manager and Investment Committee Member at GAM USA working on the Alternative Investments Solutions (AIS) team. Douglas Monticciolo

Mr. Monticciolo founded Brevet Capital Management in 2006 and has established the Firm as a leader in helping government agencies solve complex problems and drive positive social impact through the creation of innovative financing products and services. This finance-as-service approach provides direct lending and other financing to private middle market companies enabling them to effectively serve the government sector as contractors – a low credit risk strategy with highly competitive barriers to entry.
Mr. Monticciolo’s years of experience working in start-up environments as a software entrepreneur and within asset-backed securities, fixed income, and investment banking helped him identify a gap in the market where traditional lendercapital providers failed to provide the innovative financing and forward-looking advisory services needed for private contractors that government contractors rely on to deliver services.
Mr. Monticciolo has a passion for technology and approaches investing and credit financing with a problem-solving mindset. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in the financial institution’s industry resource group where he specialized in investment banking and principal finance trading and helped to create numerous serviced-marked products and services addressing unmet needs of clients. He later joined Lehman Brothers as a senior vice president in the company’s strategy group; a principal investment joint venture between investment banking and fixed income. He left Lehman Brothers to become director and co-head of asset-backed securities in North America at Deutsche Bank and head of proprietary fixed income in the merchant banking/principal finance group.
Mr. Monticciolo’s career took a turn from academics to finance when he was studying at Columbia University and working with Fischer Black, creator of the Black–Scholes model, on complex mathematical formulas. He was encouraged to apply his skills to financial problem-solving instead of academia and decided to put aside his pursuit of a PhD to join Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Monticciolo received a Master of Engineering Sciences degree in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University. He graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with an M.S. in Applied Mathematics and earned a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Mr. Monticciolo is a Level III certified member of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR High Power Rocketry) and a member of the Randonneurs USA (long distance road biking organization).
Mr. Monticciolo also coaches robotics and innovation and has led teams to numerous regional awards. While at Cowen, Mr. Porter was instrumental in assisting the company in a number of business development activities that included the company's spin-out from Société Générale S.A. and subsequent IPO, the creation of a $500 million healthcare-focused private equity fund and the acquisition of an Asian boutique investment bank. Mr. Porter started his career working in Chase Securities High Yield Corporate Finance Group, where he executed over $3.5 billion in lead managed and $7.0 billion in co-managed transactions in the media, telecommunication, healthcare, chemical, consumer products, manufacturing and service industries. Bill Sacher

Bill leads the investment, portfolio construction, and fundraising efforts of the Private Credit Team, and manages key relationships with general partners in North America and Europe.

Mr. Toback joined Castlelake in 2015 and is Partner and Deputy Co-chief Investment Officer. Tingting Zhang

After the presidency, Jiří returned to the European Commission and worked on the coordination of financial services policy in relation to the Financial Stability Board and G20. Jiří studied International Relations, Economics and Politics at Tufts University, London School of Economics and Sciences Po.
Alternative Investment Management Association
The Alternative Credit Council (ACC) is a global body that represents asset management firms in the private credit and direct lending space. It currently represents 250 members that manage over US$800bn of private credit assets.
The ACC is an affiliate of AIMA and is governed by its own board which ultimately reports to the AIMA Council.
ACC members provide an important source of funding to the economy. They provide finance to mid-market corporates, SMEs, commercial and residential real estate developments, infrastructure as well the trade and receivables business.
The ACC’s core objectives are to provide guidance on policy and regulatory matters, support wider advocacy and educational efforts and generate industry research with the view to strengthening the sector's sustainability and wider economic and financial benefits.
Alternative credit, private debt or direct lending funds have grown substantially in recent years and are becoming a key segment of the asset management industry. The ACC seeks to explain the value of private credit by highlighting the sector's wider economic and financial stability benefits.
