Kofi Asumadu Addo

Director: Guarantees ＆ Specialised Finance, Afreximbank

Kofi Asumadu Addo is a seasoned professional with over 28 years’ experience in banking, development finance, export credit and guarantee business. He is the Director of Guarantees and Specialised Finance at Afreximbank and leads the Bank’s guarantee and export credit business including the country export programme as well as the newly created repack programme. He also manages the relationships with global ECAs, DFIs and Multilaterals as well as other specialised finance entities including insurance and other alternative markets. He has structured several ECA/DFI and Guarantee transactions across the African continent (both public and private sector) in different industries including aviation, telecom, energy including oil & gas, transport, mining, among others.

Prior to joining Afreximbank, he was a Senior Manager in charge of Finance at the GCB Bank, Ghana. He also served on the Board of Asante Akyem Rural Bank, a community Bank in Asante Region of Ghana. He was an adjunct Lecturer at the University of Ghana and the University of Education, Winneba, and also served as a moderator for the National Board for Professional and Technician Examination (NABPTEX) in accountancy and finance related subjects for Polytechnic Higher National Diploma (HND) examinations in Ghana.

He is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate from Henley Business School, University of Reading UK (MSc Business & Management Research), University of Sorbonne, Paris-France (MSc Corporate Management and Finance) and University of Cape Coast, Ghana (B.Comm, and Dip. Education). He is currently a doctoral research associate at the Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK.

Afreximbank

African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is a Pan-African multilateral financial institution mandated to finance and promote intra-and extra-African trade. Laurine Amiel

Investment Director, Private Credit, AustralianSuper

Laurine is an Investment Director in AustralianSuper’s Private Credit team, based in London. She joined the Fund in 2022 to participate in the development and expansion of the Private Credit franchise.

She started her career in Paris with Natixis, where she spent nearly 10 years working predominantly in commercial real estate finance. She spent five years based in New York where she worked on the origination, execution and closing of over $3.0bn of CRE loans to US borrowers. Between 2019 and 2021 and prior to joining AustralianSuper, she was working on the European syndication desk for CRE loans done for Natixis’ clients.

Laurine holds a Bachelor in Applied Mathematics and a Masters in Economics and Engineering Finance from University Paris Dauphine.

Joaquin Ardit

Senior Portfolio Manager, Allianz Global Investors

Joaquin is Senior Portfolio Manager in the Global Private Debt unit of Allianz Global Investors. He joined Allianz in 2012 as a fixed income investment manager for the Life and Health insurance companies of Allianz Germany. Previously, Joaquin worked as a fixed income derivatives structurer for JPMorgan in London . Joaquin holds a Master’s degrees in industrial engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, a Master in Finance from Imperial College London and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York.

Emanuel Bajra

Chairman, Kosovo Pensions ＆ Savings Fund (TRUSTI)

Emanuel Bajra is a distinguished financier with 20 years of expertise in financial markets, investment banking, and a deep understanding of geopolitics and economics.

His career spans roles in investment and merchant banking, digital currencies, and regulatory landscapes, with significant positions at Lloyds Banking Group, LBCM and advisory roles in corporate and financial markets.

Elizabeth Cain

Prior to joining PIC, Elizabeth was a Director at TradeRisks, where she headed the Risk Advisory team, providing treasury and corporate finance advice to housing associations, as well as helping them to raise debt in the banking and capital markets.
Elizabeth is a Chartered Accountant, and has held non-executive roles for a local housing association. She has a First Class degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.

John Carey

John joined LGIM Real Assets in May 2023 and leads the infrastructure debt team in Europe. The team originates and structures European infrastructure debt across investment and sub-investment grade, as part of LGIM’s Private Credit strategy. John has held a number of roles in the infrastructure industry since 2001 across banking, advisory and credit ratings at Barclays, KPMG and Moody’s respectively. Most recently, John spent over eight years at IFM investors, where he led on European infrastructure debt origination. Seth Charnow is a managing director of D. E. Shaw ＆ Co., L.P. and a senior member of the D. E. Shaw group’s Private Credit investment unit, where he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s U.S. private credit investment activities. Mr. Charnow previously served as co-head of the D. E. Shaw group’s Corporate Credit investment unit. Pension Protection Fund

The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) is a public corporation, set up by the Pensions Act 2004, and run by an independent Board. The PPF reports to Parliament through the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. When an employer becomes insolvent and its pension scheme can’t afford to pay its promised pensions, the PPF compensate scheme members for the pensions they have lost. The PPF take over responsibility for paying compensation once they’ve assessed that a scheme can’t afford to buy benefits from an insurance company which are equal to, or more than, the PPF would pay. Richard Parker

Managing Director, Head of EMEA Infrastructure Group, Barings

Richard Parker is Head of Barings’ EMEA Infrastructure Group and a member of the Barings’ Global Infrastructure Committee. He is a Managing Director, located in London, and is responsible for originating, structuring, and underwriting non-recourse structured finance transactions in the infrastructure, power and energy sectors. Richard has worked in the industry for 20 years. Prior to joining Barings, Richard was the Head of the London infrastructure team at Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank where he worked for 12 years with a focus on debt advisory and the origination, structuring and underwriting of infrastructure transactions. Guillermo Pérez Molina

Private Credit Associate, Alternative Credit Council

Guillermo joined AIMA in January 2023 as a Private Credit Associate in the Alternative Credit Council (the ACC) team, based in London. His role focuses on public policy and regulatory issues affecting private credit managers as well as the ACC’s active research and events programme.

Prior to joining AIMA, Guillermo worked in public affairs consulting in Spain and the UK. He also did internships in think tanks, FinTech and the Spanish Embassy in London. Guillermo holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a MA in War Studies from King’s College London.

Alternative Credit Council

The Alternative Credit Council (ACC) is a global body that represents asset management firms in the private credit and direct lending space. It currently represents 250 members that manage over US$1 trillion of private credit assets.

The ACC is an affiliate of AIMA and is governed by its own board which ultimately reports to the AIMA Council.

ACC members provide an important source of funding to the economy. They provide finance to mid-market corporates, SMEs, commercial and residential real estate developments, infrastructure as well the trade and receivables business.

The ACC’s core objectives are to provide guidance on policy and regulatory matters, support wider advocacy and educational efforts and generate industry research. Private credit funds have grown substantially in recent years and are becoming a key segment of the asset management industry. The ACC seeks to explain the value of private credit by highlighting the sector's wider economic and financial stability benefits.

Marc Preiser has a wealth of experience in private credit investing, having worked in the industry since 1992. He joined Fidelity in April 2022 as Portfolio Manager for the Direct Lending Fund.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Marc served as Senior Advisor to Next Wave Partners, a lower mid-market private equity firm. He also held the position of Head of European Private Credit for Apollo Global Management, where he led Apollo's entry into European Direct Lending, investing over €3.0 billion across Europe in directly originated middle market investments.

Marc's experience extends to the US, where he was Managing Director and founding team member of MidCap Financial, a currently $25 billion US-based Direct Lending business, owned by Apollo since 2015. He was instrumental in building MidCap's originations and capital markets platforms. He was also with Merrill Lynch Capital as a member of the healthcare team, building the business from scratch to more than €3.0 billion across various healthcare sectors and strategies.

Marc's extensive experience across multiple financial institutions, including BNP Paribas and Credit Lyonnais, has further enriched his expertise in private credit.

Greg Racz

Mr. Racz is President and Co-Founder of MGG Investment Group. Prior to MGG, Mr. Racz was President, Principal, and Chief Legal Officer of Hutchin Hill, a multi-billion multi-strategy hedge fund. Mr. Racz received his JD, Order of the Coif, magna cum laude, from NYU School of Law and his BA, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Dartmouth College. Mr. Racz also studied at Oxford University and Leningrad State University.

David Renshaw

Dan joined DWS in 2023 to lead DWS’s European Alternative Credit business and has over 23 years of experience in credit at influential investment firms.

Most recently, Dan was Managing Partner of Capital Asset Solutions at Man Group responsible for multi-asset credit in the insurance, institutional and retail channels as well as private equity-led offshore reinsurance growth strategy. Dan also served as Global Head of CLOs and Loans responsible for developing Man’s structured credit and leverage loan business. Prior to joining Man Group, he was Chief Investment Officer (Europe) for CIFC Asset Management, responsible for the firm's investment activity in the region. He was also the senior portfolio manager and chaired the asset allocation committee for their Global Multi-Asset Credit Fund. Prior to this, Dan was Head of Liquid Credit (Europe) for Apollo Global Management, responsible for all investment activities in the region across leveraged loans, high yield bonds and CLO strategies. Between 2003 and 2015, he was a Managing Director at Oaktree Capital, responsible for high yield and leverage loan investing as well as establishing Oaktree's CLO business in 2014. He began his career at KPMG Corporate Restructuring, where he gained his ACA qualification.

Dan holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh.

Sebastian is the Lead Portfolio Manager for Global Private Debt at Allianz Global Investors. Previously, he was responsible for the Private Debt Portfolio of Allianz Group and the Alternative Investment Portfolio of the Germany Life & Health portfolios.

Other roles before joining Allianz include founding and exiting a fintech company, heading a research center for exchange trading, adjunct lecturer at the University of Hohenheim and doing a PhD in Behavioral Finance.

Daniel Sinclair

Nemashe Sivayogan is the Head of Treasury and Pension at the London Borough of Merton. Nemashe is responsible for looking after the £900m Pension Fund and the Treasury balance of £300m. In addition to Treasury and Pensions Nemashe also head the Council’s banking, insurance services and responsible for the year and accounting and auditing of the main Council. Also, she works on a number of projects across the council services.

Nemashe is a qualified Chartered Institute of Management Accountant, holding an associate membership.

Andy Thomson

Laura Vaughan, CFA

Head of Direct Lending, Federated Hermes

Laura joined Federated Hermes in November 2015 when the private credit platform was being established. Laura is the portfolio manager of the third vintage of Federated Hermes’ European Direct Lending franchise, as well as Junior Portfolio Manager of the second vintage. Laura is also responsible for managing the team of direct lending analysts. Laura sits on the Private Debt Investment Committee which considers investments across all direct lending strategies at Federated Hermes Limited. Laura joined from GE Capital, where she was an associate in its mid-market leveraged finance execution team. At GE, Laura focused on arranging financings for European private equity-backed acquisitions funded through senior, second lien, mezzanine and unitranche facilities. Prior to this, Laura worked for three years at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in its acquisition finance team in London, focusing on opportunities in European large-cap leveraged finance transactions and on portfolio management. Her previous role was at Allied Irish Bank in Dublin in its Corporate Banking North America division, in which she analysed US large-cap and middle-market leveraged finance transactions, and performed portfolio management functions. Before GSAM, Niamh was a Senior VP and Head of the ESG Desk at PIMCO and served on the firm’s CIO-chaired ESG Executive Leadership Committee. Before that, she was Director of ESG Equity Investment Research at Société Générale for over 6 years. She began her sustainable investing career at Fidelity International in 2005.

Ian Wiese

Managing Director, Portfolio Finance, Barings

Ian is a Managing Director at Barings Portfolio Finance where he is responsible for sourcing and structuring transactions. He is also a member of the investment committee. He was previously a Portfolio Manager at MassMutual’s Direct Private Investments team. Prior to joining MassMutual, Ian was the Head of Secondaries at Investec Fund Solutions, a team part of Investec Plc providing innovative liquidity solutions to funds and fund managers. Before that he also spent several years in the banks leverage finance and investment banking teams. Ian graduated with an accounting and law degree from the University of Stellenbosch as well as achieved a B.Com (Hons) Accounting. Ian is a Chartered Accountant and a qualified attorney.

Raymond Wright

Private Markets Portfolio Manager, London CIV

Raymond Wright (ACCA) works for London CIV as a Private Markets Portfolio Manager; he joined in May 2024. He has year 20 years in pension fund investment management experience, spending 16 years at British Airways Pensions before working as a consultant to Royal Mail Pension Plan as a Private Markets manager from 2020-2023.

London LGPS CIV Ltd ('London CIV'), established in 2015 by London Local Authorities manages London Local Government Pension Scheme ('LGPS') assets. London CIV is one of eight U.K. LGPS asset pooling companies. The London Boroughs and City of London are the 32 Shareholders ('Client Funds').

Kristina Matthews

Partner, Falcon Investments

Kristina Matthews is a Partner, heading up Investor Relations and Fund Raising at Falcon Investment Advisors, a leading private credit provider focused on junior capital solutions. She joined the Falcon Team in May 2023 from Brightwood Capital Advisors where she was a Managing Director, Head of Investor Relations and ESG. While she lead investor relations, Kristina primarily focused on business development and fundraising strategy along with oversight and implementation of the firm’s ESG policy. Her engagement commenced in February 2014 in a Consulting role which led to her joining Brightwood full time in May 2018. In 2012 she founded and was the Managing Partner of, Rising Tide Fund Advisors LLC, an entity providing consulting services to private credit and private equity firms. The prior 6 years she was a Managing Director at PineBridge Investments/AIG Investments and Head of Investor Relations for all Emerging Markets Private Equity. She was also part of the Central and Eastern European Private Equity Investment Team and was integrally involved in strategy, deal sourcing, and working with portfolio companies. She spent 6 years at Merrill Lynch as a Regional Sales Manager for Alternative Investments. She was a high-yield bond and distressed securities trader with BNP-Paribas, though most of her early career was as the Head of Sales for Currencies and Currency Derivatives. She holds an MBA in Economics and International Finance from New York University Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University with a dual Major in Finance and International Business and a Minor in Economics.

Andy Thomson

Senior Editor, Private Debt Investor

Andy has been with PEI since 2003, working on a number of titles including as Editor of Private Equity International and Senior Editor of Infrastructure Investor. Since H2 2015, he took over responsibility for Real Estate Capital and, in the first half of 2016, also for Private Debt Investor. He is a regular writer for the magazines as well as websites and has also often contributed to our events as a panel moderator. Prior to joining PEI, Andy had senior roles at venture capital portal Venturedome.com and at Thomson Financial. He has a degree in Sociology from the University of Surrey.
