Joe Abrams
Head of Private Debt, Europe - Mercer
Joe Abrams is Head of Private Debt, Europe within Mercer Alternatives, based in London. Mr. Abrams joined Mercer in 2010. Mr. Abrams is responsible for Private Debt fund investments - sourcing, evaluating and monitoring private debt opportunities across Europe. Mr. Abrams is a member of Mercer’s Solutions Group, the Private Debt Investment Committee, and the Private Debt Rating Review Committee. Before joining Mercer Mr. Abrams worked as a broker for ADM Investor Services, focusing on equity, interest rate and FX derivatives, and as an equity analyst for an asset management firm based in Jersey. Joe Abrams holds BA Hons in Management Studies from Nottingham University, and a MSc in Actuarial Science from Cass Business School. He is also a CFA Charterholder, and a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Ross Ahlgren
Co-Founder / General Partner, Kreos Capital
Over the past 24 years, Ross has built a market leading position for Kreos Capital in the UK and Europe. Ross focuses on identifying, assessing, and managing transactions across the UK and Europe, as well as participating in the management and execution of Kreos’s overall strategy. Prior to Kreos Capital, Ross spent 10 years in several roles within American International Group (AIG) including Vice President of Operations for AIG Europe focusing on developing marketing strategies for 14 countries. Prior to joining AIG, Ross spent two years at American Airlines helping to build the industry’s first yield management systems. Ross joined American Airlines from Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned an MSIA. Previously, in undergraduate school, he was part of a team at the University of Texas that pioneered research into successful high-growth companies and female entrepreneurs. Ross also has a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas.

Ian Anderson
Managing Director, Credit & Markets, KKR
Ian Anderson (London) joined KKR in 2014 and is a Managing Director in the Credit & Markets business. He serves as a portfolio manager for the firm’s private credit funds and portfolios and as a member of the European Private Credit Investment Committee. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Anderson was a vice president at Lazard in the corporate finance department, advising a diverse range of European and global corporate clients on M&A transactions and restructurings. Kyle Asher
Co-Head and Co-Portfolio Manager, Opportunistic Credit Monroe Capital
Kyle Asher, Partner, Managing Director & Co-Head and Co-Portfolio Manager, Opportunistic Private Credit. Mr. Asher is a Managing Director, Co-Head and Co-Portfolio Manager of Monroe Capital’s Opportunistic Private Credit investment vehicles. . He is responsible for deal origination, structuring, and portfolio management, as well as overseeing the opportunistic business and its team. As part of the opportunistic business, Mr. Asher co-leads the firms’ investments in real estate, specialty finance and corporate special situations. He joined the firm in 2009 and is a member of the Opportunistic Private Credit Fund’s Investment Committee. He serves as the Co-Chair of the firm’s Strategic Planning Committee. Mr. Asher has over 14 years of investment experience and has led the underwriting of over $5 billion of debt and equity transactions, across a variety of opportunistic private investments. Prior to Monroe, he was an Analyst with Chicago-based Calder Capital Partners, a direct and fund-of-funds private equity firm partly owned by Goldman Sachs and Ares Capital (formerly Allied Capital), where he performed due diligence on various direct and fund-of-fund investments, sourced transactions and assisted in capital raising. Mr. Asher began his career as an Equity Analyst for MindShare Capital, an institutional money-manager where he focused on the valuation and trading patterns of small-cap growth companies. Mr. Asher earned his M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Northwestern University and his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Northwestern University.

Alberto Badino
Partner, Elm Capital
Alberto Badino is a Partner responsible for general partner advisory and origination at Elm Capital, where he assists fund sponsors and general partners on fundraising, fund liquidity solutions and secondary market transactions and oversees the team managing general partner mandates.
He has over 15 years’ experience in public and private markets during which he worked on over 30 engagements across fund placement and GP-led secondary transactions for private equity, private credit and infrastructure clients.
Alberto joined Elm Capital in 2012 from Probitas Partners and was previously at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London in Corporate & Investment Banking.

Tavneet Bakshi

Tavneet Bakshi is a Partner of Signal Capital Partners. Previously, Tavneet was a Partner at FIRSTavenue, where she was Head of their EMEA business whilst also leading many of the firm’s private credit and infrastructure fundraisings. Prior to this, Tavneet worked with Pioneer Alternative Investments (Hong Kong), part of a global fund of funds, where she was responsible for Asian manager research and allocations. Tavneet began her career with Morgan Stanley in London and subsequently Hong Kong. Tavneet holds a BSc (hons) in Economics from the London School of Economics.

Anna Barath
Head of Fund Investments, Bite Investments
Anna is the Head of Fund Investments of Bite, based in Bite’s London office. She joined Bite in 2021 from KIC, the $205bn sovereign wealth fund of South Korea, where she was a Senior Investment Manager allocating to private equity and credit across funds and co-investments. Prior to KIC, she worked in the Private Markets team of the £90bn Universities Superannuation Scheme. Her experience in private markets spans nearly a decade, during which she worked on combined capital commitments of $4.4bn, with 41 fund and co-investment deals completed in private equity, credit, infrastructure and real estate. At Bite, Anna leads the fund sourcing, selection and diligence activities of Bite. A British and Hungarian national, Anna holds an MA in Finance from IE Business School and a BA in International Business Economics from Corvinus University of Budapest. She is a CFA charter holder.

Johnnie Barnett
Partner, The New Amsterdam Group
Johnnie Barnett is a Partner at New Amsterdam based in London, England. Johnnie leads the firm’s distribution efforts across Europe and is involved across all aspects of fund raising for their GPs. He has been raising capital from institutional LPs across the globe for more than 15 years across alternative and traditional asset classes. Across his career, he has been actively involved in 21 capital raising projects, responsible for over £2.2bn in commitments.
Prior to joining New Amsterdam, Johnnie worked for Allianz Global Investors, Northern Trust Asset Management and spent 3 years in India working for ICICI Securities in corporate finance. He started his career at Schroders Investment Management in 2005.
Johnnie is a Classics (Ancient Greek & Latin) graduate of the University of Bristol, and a CFA charterholder.

Christopher Bone
Partner, Partners Group
Christopher Bone is Co-Head of Partners Group's London office and Head of Private Debt in Europe. Jane Bowes
Partner, Threadmark
Jane Bowes is a member of Threadmark’s European fund distribution team and Chair of the ESG Committee. Jane has over two decades of capital raising experience and has worked on multiple infrastructure focused fundraises since joining Threadmark in 2014. As the founding member of Threadmark’s ESG committee, Jane also helps Threadmark’s clients implement and enhance their ESG strategies.
Jane established her career at Gryphon Investment Bank where she subsequently became Partner and had primary responsibility for investor syndication. She has also held senior investor relations positions at EMF Capital Partners and Hussar & Co.

Bill Brady is Head of the firm’s Alternative Lender and Private Credit Group, focused on the global private credit market. He is also a member of the Special Situations Group, based in New York.
Mr. Brady’s practice focuses on complex finance transactions and credit arrangements, particularly those financings that include multiple tranches of debt. Jiří Król

Jiří is Global Head of the Alternative Credit Council, a trade body which was established to represent the interests of private credit and non-bank finance participants in asset management. The role of the Alternative Credit Council is to provide direction on the developments and trends in the alternative and private credit strategy space, through thought-leadership, research, education, high-level advocacy and policy guidance.
Jiří started his career at the Czech securities market regulator. Pension Protection Fund
The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) is a public corporation, set up by the Pensions Act 2004, and run by an independent Board. The PPF reports to Parliament through the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. When an employer becomes insolvent and its pension scheme can’t afford to pay its promised pensions, the PPF compensate scheme members for the pensions they have lost. The PPF take over responsibility for paying compensation once they’ve assessed that a scheme can’t afford to buy benefits from an insurance company which are equal to, or more than, the PPF would pay. Howard Sharp

Howard Sharp joined Alcentra as Head of Origination from Park Square Capital where he was a Partner and Head of Mid-Market Direct Lending for 4 years. In this role he was responsible for co-ordinating the sponsor coverage and origination activities of the firm.
Prior to this, Howard spent five years at GE Corporate Finance Bank as Head of Origination & Sponsor Coverage and Head of Leveraged Capital Markets. Tom is currently the Head of Private Markets for Phoenix Group, the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement provider with over £270bn of Assets under Administration, on behalf of over 13 million policyholders.
In his current role, Tom is a member of the Leadership Team within Phoenix Asset Management, reporting into the Group Chief Investment Officer, Mike Eakins. Tom is responsible for leading the Origination of Illiquid Assets for Phoenix Asset Management, with Sustainability at the heart of the global investment strategy.
Prior to joining Phoenix Group in March 2021, Tom was Head of Infrastructure Investments at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) across Equity and Debt, investing globally in the asset class whilst supporting climate change, having joined in 2017. Prior to joining LGIM Tom was a Managing Director, Head of Acquisition Finance at Royal Bank of Canada for almost 10 years, advising, structuring and underwriting across RBC's M&A sectors (with notable transactions in Infrastructure, Energy, Industrials, Financial Institutions, Tech/ Media/Telecoms and Healthcare) in both public and private M&A financing events. Tom is a Chartered Accountant (trained with PwC).

Andy has been with PEI since 2003, working on a number of titles including as Editor of Private Equity International and Senior Editor of Infrastructure Investor. Since H2 2015, he took over responsibility for Real Estate Capital and, in the first half of 2016, also for Private Debt Investor. He is a regular writer for the magazines as well as websites and has also often contributed to our events as a panel moderator. Prior to joining PEI, Andy had senior roles at venture capital portal Venturedome.com and at Thomson Financial. He has a degree in Sociology from the University of Surrey.

Alison Trusty
Associate Partner, Aon
Alison Trusty is an Associate Partner within the global investment management team, with 15 years investment experience. At Aon Alison’s research focus is on alternative credit, with expertise across both liquid and private debt markets. She has lead the firm’s research efforts in strategies such as distressed debt, regulatory capital relief and litigation finance. Alison is also a member of Aon’s global private credit group.
Before joining Aon, Alison spent five and half years at Hymans Robertson, a UK Consultancy, where she led the firm’s research and advice on hedge fund strategies and managers. Prior to this, Alison worked as a hedge fund analyst at Olympia Capital Management, a Paris-based multi-strategy fund of hedge fund.
Alison started her career at a private wealth management firm where she was co-portfolio manager for the firm’s discretionary managed AIM portfolios.

Natalia Tsitoura

Natalia is Head of European Private Credit at Apollo and is responsible for originating, structuring and underwriting transactions. Natalia has over 14 years of investing experience and extensive knowledge in direct lending dealflow, having worked closely with private equity houses and corporates over the years. Prior to joining Apollo, Natalia was a Managing Director at Alcentra where she was one of the founding members of its European direct lending platform.

Dr. Matthias Unser is a Founding Partner and Managing Director of YIELCO Investments AG. Since 2003 he was responsible for more than 80 commitments to private debt funds with a total committed capital of more than USD 2.5bn. Matthias had leading roles for European funds-of-funds managers (DB Private Equity, Sal. Oppenheim Private Equity Partners; VCM Capital Management) where he was responsible for all private debt fund commitments, covering direct lending, mezzanine, distressed debt, credit opportunities and specialty finance funds. Between 1999 and 2001 he worked in Corporate Finance Advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Matthias holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Finance.

Reji is the Lead Portfolio Manager for Private Markets Investments at Decalia SA, where he runs a private market solutions programme that invests through fund investments, co-investments, secondary transactions and seeding deals, with a particular focus on private credit and special situations. Reji has 16 years of industry experience and was previously an executive director at Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners, an executive director at Goldman Sachs Investment Banking and a consultant at Bain & Company. Reji received a B.A. (Hons) in law and a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge and an M.B.A. with Distinction from Harvard Business School.

Tricia Ward
Head of Private Markets, Redington
Tricia joined Redington in June 2021 as a Director in Manager Research, with responsibility for leading the private credit team to source, select and deliver best-in-class investment solutions to Redington’s institutional and wealth management client base.
Tricia most recently gained experience in the Public Sector at Greater Manchester Pension Fund, developing the private credit, private equity and infrastructure programmes, alongside helping to build the ESG framework for private markets.
Tricia launched her career on the Graduate Programme at Goldman Sachs over 20 years ago, where she also qualified as a Chartered Accountant, an ideal foundation before moving into a credit hedge fund. In 2008 Tricia joined Absolute Return Partners, an alternatives investment management boutique, as a credit and ILS analyst. In 2010 she was made Partner and built out the investment research and management teams for private markets, with a continued focus on private credit. Adam has worked in the industry since 1994 and his experience has encompassed mezzanine investing, private debt investing, originating, structuring and underwriting leveraged loans. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, he worked for AMP Capital Investors as the head of the Australian and New Zealand Private Debt business where he was responsible for managing a team that originated, arranged and invested in mezzanine and related private debt financings. He was also a member of the AMP Capital Private Debt Investment Committee. Before AMP, he held origination, underwriting and advisory positions at Rabobank Corporate Finance, N.M. Rothschild & Sons and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mark Wilton
Managing Director, Barings
Mark Wilton is a senior member of Barings’ Global Private Finance Group and a member of the European Private Finance Investment Committee. He is responsible for originating, executing and monitoring European private finance investments with management responsibilities. Mark has worked in the industry since 1996. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Mark was with the Royal Bank of Scotland ("RBS") where he worked in the Corporate and Structured Finance ("CSF") business. During his time at RBS, Mark was influential in the successful growth of the London CSF team, which more than doubled its income within this period. Mark led a number of high profile transactions, structuring and arranging both senior debt and mezzanine finance in support of private equity sponsored deals. Prior to RBS, Mark was a Corporate Finance Adviser for Catalyst Corporate Finance, an independent boutique, and PricewaterhouseCoopers ("PwC"). Mark qualified as an ACA in 1996 at PwC and holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Management Sciences from Loughborough University.
