Joost Bergsma
Global Head of Clean Energy Infrastructure, Nuveen Infrastructure
Joost Bergsma founded Glennmont Partners in 2008. As CEO of Glennmont Partners, he has grown the company into one of Europe's largest clean energy investment platforms, raising over €4.7 billion from blue chip investors through infrastructure equity and debt products.
Under his leadership, Glennmont has invested in major renewable energy projects across Europe, including offshore wind, solar, onshore wind and bioenergy. Joost leads the corporate strategy of Glennmont which became part of Nuveen in 2021 and he sits on the Board of some of Glennmont’s larger investments.
With over 25 years of experience in utility banking and fund management, Joost has devised and implemented asset and exit strategies, raising in excess of €10 billion of sales proceeds for energy clients.
Previously, Joost worked at SG Warburg & Co., ABN AMRO and BNP Paribas. He has read law at Leiden University (the Netherlands) and has an MBA from INSEAD (France).
